At Solargraf, our commitment to delivering the best customer experience drives us to expand our offerings and provide seamless end to end solutions. In line with this vision, we have added numerous new features to our platform and enhanced support services in 2024, focusing on the following four key areas:

Ease of design

Effortlessly create design in minutes with automated detection of roofline, obstruction, trees, pitch and azimuth and panel placements. Support different project types including new, existing (system expansion) and battery only systems.

Highlights:

  • Smart designer: The new Smart Designer feature automates the solar design process by providing optimized panel placement and battery recommendation tailored for consumption offset, bill offset or maximum fit targets. Learn more
  • Battery design tool revamp: Compare and customize battery options from over 25 manufacturers with our newly enhanced tool, designed to tailor for self-consumption, backup, or savings goals supporting both export mode and grid-tied solutions. Learn more
  • System expansion: Easily expand existing solar and storage systems by adding panels to meet energy shortfalls and lower utility bills. Learn more
  • Power control system (PCS): Configure more extensive solar and storage systems (within NEC 120% rule) while avoiding main panel upgrades and additional equipment costs. PCS improves the economics of the solar system by allowing you to control solar and storage operations dynamically. Learn more

Accuracy

Achieve enhanced accuracy of production estimates validated by third party organizations and create designs that are permit ready.

Highlights:

  • California Energy Commission (CEC) approves Solargraf: California Energy Commission (CEC) has approved Solargraf as a solar assessment tool for the 2022 Energy Code, following a thorough review of its shading accuracy and reliability.
  • NEM 3.0 update: Solargraf supports the NEM 3.0 utility calculations for splitting and offset of generation/delivery export credits. Under the updated framework, the generation and delivery components of import charges can only be offset by their respective export credit components.
  • Demand charges: Solargraf has the capability to accurately model peak demand (kW) charges for both commercial and residential tariffs, enhancing cost prediction accuracy. The bill calculation considers accurate time-of-use and tiering of demand rates and calculates demand charges. This change will impact all bill calculations with tariffs containing demand charges across the US. Users can choose the appropriate billing demand type in utility settings as per tariff data.
  • DIY permit generation: Transform solar and storage proposals into install ready, AHJ-compliant permit plan sets in just a few clicks through the power of automation. Learn more
