AHJ Updates

California: Solargraf is now updated with the latest changes in city of Moreno Valley.

City of Moreno Valley:

For battery installation in garages or any interior place, a heat alarm must be installed with the following criteria:

  • The heat alarm must be rated for ambient temperatures specific to this region.
  • The heat alarm must be tied-in or interconnected to the smoke alarms or other alarm systems inside the residence.
  • The heat alarm must be approved by the California State Fire Marshal (CSFM).

• The state of Idaho adopted NEC 2023 in April’24.

Utility updates

Utilities from Virginia, Maryland, Kansas, Ohio, Texas, and New Mexico have made changes which have been updated in Solargraf.

Virginia

Norther Virginia Electric Co.: Separate meter is not required for solar power generation and solar system size should be less than 20 KW AC.

Southside Electric Co.: Need to install the net meter after the installation is inspected and completed.

Maryland

Southern Maryland Elec Coop Inc.: Installing a PV meter is not required in this utility. SMECO uses the AMI infrastructure to bill customers based on net of both generation and usage.

Kansas

Butler Rural El Coop Assn, Inc.: Additional PV meter is not required. It can be replaced with a standard Co-Gen meter.

Ohio

AEP-Ohio: A separate PV meter in this not needed for this utility.

Texas

Oncor Electric Delivery Compact: Distance between AC disconnect and meter to be mentioned in the layout (site/roof plan) and line diagram sketch.

New Mexico

Public Service Co. of NM: Need arrow callouts of all equipment in the site/roof plan and not just in the calculator box or the legend.
